Job description

Position Overview
The Behavioral Health Specialist supports the milieu by facilitating therapeutic skills and activity groups, providing therapeutic meal support at mealtimes and snacks, assisting clients in acquiring skills to manage their eating disorder, maintaining a recovery-oriented environment, and providing general support and assistance.
Schedule
  • Part Time, 0.6 FTE, (24hrs/wk), Monday / Tuesday / Thursday working from 7:40 - 3:30pm
    • **End times could be adjusted to 2:30pm depending on site programming / client needs.**

Compensation Range:
Behavioral Health Specialist: $20.00 - $23.00 Hourly
Final Compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position.
How Behavioral Health Specialists Empower Recovery
  • Facilitates therapy groups including skills groups (including CBT and DBT), self-monitoring groups, and experiential activity groups which may include art activities, music, journaling, mindfulness, relaxation, and movement.
  • Participates in therapeutic supported meals and snacks.
  • Provides milieu support.
  • Contributes to the creation and maintenance of a recovery-oriented therapeutic environment.
  • Participates in treatment team, mini team, therapy team, and/or case consultation meetings.
  • Completes clinical documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
General Education Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a mental, behavioral, counseling, or behavioral sciences health-related field is strongly preferred.

OR
  • An associate's degree may be considered if combined with equivalent experience in the mental or behavioral health field.
  • Regardless of degree, a minimum of 1 years of direct patient care experience in a mental/behavioral health setting is required.

Other Qualifications:
  • Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites must have a valid driver's license and be authorized to drive.
  • Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites are required to have a current Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites are required to have a current First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites in North Carolina or Georgia are required to have a current CPI certification within 30 days of hire.
