Job Title: Adjunct Instructor of Integrated Environmental Science (applicant pool)
Reporting Structure: Department Chair of Natural Sciences, Dean of CSEM & Provost
Division: College of Science, Engineering & Mathematics (CSEM)
Job Summary:
This is a part-time Adjunct teaching position in the Department of Integrated Environmental Science/ Natural Sciences.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Successful candidates will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and/or graduate level in Integrated Environmental Science.
  • Preferred candidates for the position must hold a Master's degree or a Ph.D. degree in environmental science, ecology, earth science, or a closely related field. While all areas are considered, desired areas include environmental systems, field ecology, environmental policy, GIS and remote sensing, and environmental chemistry.

Required Skills/Abilities: Familiarity with learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, etc.); experience with field-based instruction and data collection is preferred.
Education and Experience:
  • Applicants should have a Master's degree or a PhD in environmental science, ecology, earth science, or a closely related discipline.
  • Applicants should have a strong commitment to teaching at a liberal arts school. Evidence of successful teaching at the college level is required.
  • The candidate must be prepared to affirm and support the Christian and liberal arts mission of Bethune-Cookman University.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
