SUMMARY: The Engineer performs general maintenance work to ensure the total comfort, safety, and satisfaction of hotel guests and staff; maintains all equipment, buildings, and property in proper condition.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains property including but not limited to guest rooms, public areas, equipment preventive maintenance program; ensures all maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely, cost-effective manner and according to all specifications
  • Maintains the hotel’s physical operations including but not limited to refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, laundry machines, swimming pools, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, plumbing, water treatment, and electric systems
  • Interfaces with appropriate hotel staff/managers to receive information regarding maintenance needs; ensures timely response to requests
  • Ensures all fire and safety inspections are completed and any discrepancies corrected; ensures property is in compliance with all safety and sanitation policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Maintains ventilation/air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other generally accepted maintenance skills
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of ventilation/air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and other generally accepted maintenance skills
  • Knowledge of city and state building codes, OSHA requirements, and ADA laws

  • Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
  • Frequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
