Job description
The purpose of this classification is to perform difficult protective service work providing emergency medical care and response to hazardous materials incidents. (see attached Job Description) Paramedic - 2020
QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
EDUCATION/TRAINING: High school diploma or GED; supplemented by college level course work or vocational training in emergency medical services.
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years previous experience and/or training that includes EMT and Paramedic work; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license. Must possess and maintain a valid certification as a Paramedic and certification in ACLS and CPR.
