Job description

Security Benefit Academy is hiring for part-time Childcare Teachers! We can offer flexible schedules that fit your needs for school and family. Starting pay up to $15 per hour based on experience.
Security Benefit Academy is hiring for part-time Teachers to provide classroom coverage in our child care center. Teachers will be working with infants to Pre-K and responsible for executing an ongoing program of activities that meet the children's basic developmental needs and self-care skills of our children. Individuals selected must be able to maintain a positive, warm and encouraging environment for children and interact with them in a positive and loving manner. Also, the Teachers must be able to maintain a positive and supportive relationship with parents and other associates. The Academy hours of operation are from 7:30 am - 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Job Duties:
  • Carry out appropriate developmental activities with the class
  • Continuously supervise and interact with children, individually and in groups. Monitor the safety of children in their care while in the classroom as well as on the playground or at an activity
  • Establish and maintain open and positive communications with parents and associates
  • Adhere to all licensing regulations, as well as childcare center policies and procedures
  • Interact with parents through email and meetings to keep parents apprised of child's progress

Requirements:
  • At least 18-years-old
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with children at a licensed child care facility
  • A respectful and caring mindset toward children
  • Basic understanding of child growth and development
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to function effectively as part of a team
  • A positive attitude
  • Light to medium lifting required and the ability to keep up with active young children and work inside and outside all year
  • Ability to work various hours/schedules with various age children and able to work on a on-call basis
  • Able to use Microsoft Office to input data and communicate to or with parents
  • Able to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel children/infants, small objects, controls and to care for the children
  • Able to repeatedly reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, squat, climb or crawl
  • Able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, and in case of an emergency a 50-pound child
