Job Description:
Work Location: Fargo Corporate Office
Work Location Type: In-Office, Desk-Share, or Potential for remote work
Schedule: Part-Time.20-29 hrs/week. Preferred shift between the hours of 10-4 M-F.
The Electronic Payments Specialist completes various ACH Operations, including, but not limited to, daily ACH processing, supporting bank-wide ACH-related questions, partnering with other departments and retail to provide accurate and efficient ACH processing and solutions. Responsible for assigned duties from partner teams within the department (for example: backup support for Check Operations or Debit Card Operations).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Participate in the annual ACH Audit, including, but not limited to, research and provide documentation requested for the annual audit of NACHA Rules compliance and participate in meetings, discussions and reviews of the annual audit. Participate in implementation of recommendations and resolution of potential findings.
  • Responsible for completing ACH processing timely and accurately, including but not limited to:
    • File Load Errors, file load emails and corrections pertaining to file load errors
    • Exceptions processing - determine posting by using account information, documentation in Nautilus and email from the offices
    • Accurately process daily returns, incoming and outgoing
    • Process, verify and return of Written Statements of Unauthorized Debit items
  • Assist through help desk channels and internal service requests, demonstrating strong service skills. Identify customers' needs, gather necessary information, and provide well-informed decisions and recommendations.
  • Promptly escalate system and process issues to department leadership
  • Initiate set up, verify and process maintenance requests for External Deposit Pre Authorizations on behalf of the customer
  • Process Notification of Change on Deposit Accounts and distribute notifications to other departments when applicable.
  • Manage return request from the Fraud Department
  • Ensure accurate general ledger accounts for ACH and various department general ledger accounts daily
  • Work with third parties as needed to resolve variances, processing errors or system releases/enhancements.
  • Responsible for taking the necessary steps to prevent or return Social Security deposit errors, after the Bank has received an ACH Death Notice entry from Social Security.
  • Researching ACH items for other Institutions requests
  • Processes Social Security reclamations.
  • Provide Support to the Treasury Management Team with Originator questions related to ACH originated items, ACH originated returns and ACH originator NOCs.
    • Process Treasury Management requests for Positive Pay Returns
    • Create communication to other financial institutions regarding originated items for the Treasury Management Team
  • Write and revise deposit support material regarding responsibilities such as policies, procedures, training material, forms, etc.
  • Perform back-up duties as assigned and when necessary.
  • Will be cross trained in a variety of critical and non-critical duties to ensure timely completion when needed.
  • Presents related material and provides training at New Employee Training, department meetings, , etc.

  • Exercise sound judgment and make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Utilize approved AI-enabled tools and technologies to enhance productivity, support problem-solving and decision-making, and drive efficiencies while exercising sound judgment and adhering to company policies, privacy standards, and responsible use expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Associate's degree in business, finance or related field; 3 or more years previous related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
