Electrical Engineering Manager – Commercial & Industrial 2026

Due to steady growth, Boswell Engineering now has an exciting growth opportunity for a talented proven Senior Electrical Engineering Manager (licensed PE required) to support our Power & Energy Team’s Commercial & Industrial expansion reporting to our South Hackensack, NJ office.

This EE Manager of C&I (Commercial & Industrial) will report directly to our VP of Engineering for Power & Energy and successfully fulfill the following responsibilities:                                                                                                                                        

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Management
    • Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers, ensuring they have the resources and support to succeed
    • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high standards, while also managing budgets, resources, and vendor relationships
    • Manage team performance, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback 
    • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment
  • Project Management
    • Oversee the entire electrical engineering process, from initial concept to final product for our Commercial & Industrial Facilities markets which include electric utilities, data center mission critical operations, and other facilities electric power systems
    • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and schedules
    • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while managing project risks
  • Technical Expertise
    • Possess a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices
    • Design, develop, and implement electrical systems and equipment
    • Stay up to date on the latest industry trends and technologies
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
    • Manage client expectations and ensure project deliverables meet their needs 
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Budget & Resource Management
    • Develop and manage project budgets
    • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Business Development:  such as identifying new opportunities and developing proposals
    • Developing and implementing engineering policies and procedures
    • Recruitment and hiring of electrical engineers at all levels

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required while a Master’s degree in Industrial Management is highly preferred, together with active Professional Engineering (PE) licenses in both NY and NJ.
  • Experience: 15+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with 10+ years of leadership and direct management experience in the Commercial & Industrial Facilities market which includes electric utilities, data center mission critical operations, and other facilities electric power systems
