Excelsior University is growingโ€”and weโ€™re making a meaningful investment in education and workforce development in the St. Petersburg, Florida community. As we expand our hybrid learning model, we are building a dynamic pool of part-time faculty and lab instructors to support our undergraduate Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) program.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of applied engineering education while working with adult learners developing real-world, career-ready skills.

Our hybrid EET program blends the flexibility of asynchronous online learning with the power of hands-on, in-person labs at our St. Petersburg site. As an instructor, you will guide students through both environmentsโ€”teaching online while leading lab sessions that reinforce applied skills and workforce readiness.

Courses are delivered in an 8-week format, with the majority of contentโ€”including theory, discussions, and assignmentsโ€”offered asynchronously online. On-site lab sessions are typically 3 hours, held in the evenings every other week to provide hands-on, applied learning that complements online instruction.

Depending on qualifications and program needs, instructors may be assigned to courses such as:

  • ELEC152 โ€“ Circuit Theory I: Fundamentals of circuit analysis (DC circuits, power, energy, circuit theorems)
  • ELEC153 โ€“ Circuit Theory II: AC circuit analysis (phasors, impedance, resonance, filters)
  • ELEC160 โ€“ Electronics I: Semiconductor devices, biasing, amplifier design
  • ELEC161 โ€“ Electronics II: Advanced electronics including operational amplifiers, filters, oscillators, and high-frequency circuits

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate engaging in-person and hybrid lab sessions aligned with course outcomes

  • Maintain safe, functional, and industry-relevant lab environments
  • Collaborate with faculty, site staff, and technicians to ensure a seamless hybrid learning experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Masterโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of industry or technical experience
  • Ability to support both asynchronous online instruction and in-person lab facilitation
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment and safety protocols

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in a related discipline
  • College-level teaching experience, particularly with adult and nontraditional learners
  • Experience with online teaching platforms and learning management systems
  • Industry certifications or licensure (e.g., PE, CET)
