Job Description

Part-Time Diagnostic Assessor - Flexible hours, expert supervision

Looking for a flexible, paid position that advances your studies?

Join two exciting research teams at the University of Pennsylvania!

We are conducting federally-funded studies that need diagnosticians. We're looking for passionate psychology graduate students who are excited about expert training/supervision, have excellent communication skills who have experience with or a strong desire to receive thorough training on the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5.

About us: We are two research groups: the Center for Psychotherapy Research and the Penn Mental Health AIDS Research Center. Our team has recruited, trained, and supervised graduate students like you for roughly 30 years. See our websites for more information on our ever-evolving research. CPR: https://www.med.upenn.edu/cpr/; PMHARC: http://www.med.upenn.edu/pmharc/.

About the position: Join our research groups as a diagnostician administering the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5, Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression, Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale, Quality of Life Scale, and the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale. The selected students will receive expert training and supervision to become competent diagnosticians.

Diagnosticians on our team generally offer a minimum of three-hour blocks of availability on as many days as they would like (Monday-Friday). Diagnosticians are contacted when a study assessment is scheduled, often on a weekly basis. We are flexible with schedules and keep an open door for communication. We are looking for diagnosticians who will be available throughout the year, including this upcoming spring and summer 2025.

We pay per completed assessment, compensate for the time diagnosticians spend waiting for patients to arrive, and compensate for training/supervision time. Our assessments are completed virtually, so you will not have to worry about coming to our site!

Why should you apply?

  • Fantastic, tailored training
  • Ongoing supervision with an expert supervisor and strong graduate students
  • Flexible hours
  • Great experience for your CV
  • Connection with multiple exciting mental health research studies

Interested?

We are currently accepting applications. Please send your CV and a cover letter. Be sure to mention any experience administering the SCID-5 and/or other assessments.

Your application materials will be swiftly reviewed; selected applicants will be contacted for a phone interview. New hires will begin training as soon as possible.
