Job description

Molly's Dog Care is looking for a part-time Dog Bather / Grooming Assistant to join our growing grooming team!

Our grooming business has grown quickly since opening, and Molly's was recently voted Best Pet Groomer in Baltimore Magazine's Best of Baltimore Readers' Poll. As we continue to expand, we're looking for a hardworking, dog-loving team member to support our groomers and help us provide an excellent experience for every dog and client. This is a hands-on role with plenty of opportunity to learn. You'll work closely with experienced groomers while gaining experience with bathing, drying, brushing, grooming prep, dog handling, and the day-to-day operation of a busy grooming salon.

What You'll Do

  • Bathing & Drying: Provide high-quality bathing, blow-drying, and brush-outs for dogs of all sizes, coats, and breeds.
  • Grooming Prep: Assist with essential grooming services including nail trims, ear cleaning, and gland expressions.
  • Safety First: Prioritize the safety, comfort, and well-being of each dog in your care at all times.
  • Salon Upkeep: Keep the grooming and bathing spaces clean, sanitized, and organized.
  • Team Collaboration: Support our groomers and front desk team to ensure appointments run smoothly and on schedule.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to both our dogs and their human companions.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience bathing dogs in a professional setting such as a grooming salon, veterinary clinic, kennel, or shelter is REQUIRED to start out in the bathing role. If you have no professional experience bathing, please apply to our Dog Care Specialist role and we are willing to train the right individuals!
  • Weekend availability is mandatory.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and safely handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
  • Enthusiasm, positivity, willingness to learn, strong communication skills, and a team-first mentality.
  • Someone who treats every dog like family and keeps their safety and well-being top of mind.
