Independence Veterinary Clinic (Independence, Iowa)
The Role: As a Pet Groomer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the health, appearance, and comfort of our furry clients. Working independently yet cohesively within our veterinary team, you will ensure each pet receives top-notch grooming tailored to their needs and owner expectations.
Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time, Commission (Starting at 50%, based on experience)
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of proven professional grooming experience.
  • Grooming certification preferred.
  • Fear Free Certified Professional preferred.
  • Familiarity with standard cuts for all breeds.
  • Skilled in nail trimming, scissoring, styling, etc.
  • Sound understanding of animal behavior.
  • Must be able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing and grasping.
  • Physically able to handle dogs of all sizes and lift up to 60 pounds.
General Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all pets in your care receive a high quality, professional groom while using force free methods.
  • Educate pet parents on products and services offered.
  • Provide a thorough check-in and check-out process for each pet parent.
  • Bathe and groom scheduled pets without assistance of hospital staff unless otherwise arranged.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Document grooming instructions and fees for all grooming clients on physical card or in software.
  • Other duties as needed.
