What is a part time disaster relief worker?

A part-time disaster relief worker is someone who assists in emergency response and recovery efforts during and after disasters, such as hurricanes, floods, or fires, but works on a part-time basis. These workers often support organizations like the Red Cross, FEMA, or local agencies by providing aid, distributing supplies, or helping with cleanup and shelter operations. Part-time disaster relief workers may be called in during crisis events or may work scheduled shifts, depending on the needs of the organization. This role is ideal for those who want to help communities in need but cannot commit to full-time employment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time disaster relief worker?

To thrive as a Part Time Disaster Relief Worker, you generally need basic emergency response training, problem-solving abilities, and often CPR/first aid certification. Familiarity with communication radios, incident management systems, and safety equipment is typically required. Strong teamwork, adaptability, and stress management skills help individuals excel in unpredictable and high-pressure situations. These competencies are crucial for ensuring effective support to affected communities and maintaining safety during disaster response operations.

What are the most common challenges faced by part time disaster relief workers, and how can they prepare for them?

Part-time disaster relief workers often encounter unpredictable schedules, rapidly changing environments, and emotionally charged situations. The work can involve long hours during emergencies, close coordination with full-time staff, and adapting quickly to new protocols or locations. Preparing by staying physically fit, maintaining flexibility in availability, and participating in regular training or drills can help manage these challenges. Additionally, building strong communication skills and a support network among colleagues can enhance resilience and effectiveness on the job.

Dallas Cowboys 50/50 Charity Raffle Ticket Seller

Pay: $16.00/hour + seller incentives and prizes
Position Type: Part-Time, Seasonal Contract (Home Games Only)
Location: AT&T Stadium | DFW-area candidates only

Want to be part of the excitement at Dallas Cowboys games while helping raise money for a great cause?

The Dallas Cowboys 50/50 Charity Raffle benefits The Salvation Army and has raised more than $1 million since 2016 to support youth, veterans, disaster relief, homelessness programs, and other critical community services. At each home game, one lucky fan wins 50% of the jackpot, while the remaining proceeds help support those in need throughout North Texas.

We are looking for enthusiastic, outgoing, and dependable individuals to join our game day team. Our raffle sellers are the backbone of the program, engaging with fans and helping maximize charitable fundraising.

What You'll Do

  • Sell 50/50 raffle tickets throughout AT&T Stadium using handheld sales devices.
  • Interact with fans in a fun, energetic, and professional manner.
  • Meet individual and team sales goals.
  • Educate fans about the raffle and charitable impact.

Requirements

  • Must live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
  • Must be available for all Dallas Cowboys home games, including preseason, regular season, playoffs, and Thanksgiving Day.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable approaching and engaging large crowds.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Comfortable using digital technology.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Game Day Expectations

  • Arrive approximately 90 minutes before stadium plazas open. Each game is approximately 7 hours.
  • Work through the fourth quarter.
  • Follow all policies regarding professionalism, including no alcohol, smoking, socializing, or cell phone use while selling.
  • Wear black pants and black shoes; raffle polo shirts are provided each game.

Important

This is a seasonal contract position. Due to the limited number of game days and staffing requirements, attendance at all home games is mandatory. No games may be missed. Please view the schedule before applying. https://www.dallascowboys.com/schedule/

If you are energetic, sales-minded, love interacting with people, and want to help raise thousands of dollars for charity while working in one of the most exciting environments in sports, we'd love to hear from you.
