We are presently accepting applications for the following position.
BUS DRIVER (Part-Time)
Qualifications:
  • Hold a valid New Jersey Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger and school bus endorsement
  • High School diploma or equivalent, required
  • Must be able to maintain open lines of communication with transportation department, schools, students and parents
  • Have a minimum of two years of previous safe driving experience
  • Have a minimum of three years' experience operating a school or commercial bus
  • Have sufficient mechanical aptitude to diagnose minor problems and make appropriate repairs
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain passenger discipline to ensure the safety and well-being and protect against vandalism
  • Demonstrate compliance with DOT physical examination and Drug and Alcohol Testing requirements prior to employment
  • Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation in accordance with statute
  • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community
  • Experience working with Special Needs/at- risk students
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written
  • Demonstrate computer literacy to be able to enter transportation information in software utilized by the district, preferred
  • Must be able to perform physical work which requires frequent bending and lifting

Rate: $33.00 per hour
Hours: 20-27.5 hrs/week with extra hours when available. 10 month position with availability to work summer hours.
This is a part time position which does not include benefits.
