Driver's Intervention Program (DIP) Counselor 

Organization: DeCoach Recovery Centre 

Location: Sharonville, Ohio 

Position Type: Part-time 

Schedule: 2 days per month - Saturday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, and Sunday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm 

Overview: 

DeCoach Recovery Centre is seeking a qualified and compassionate individual to join our team as a Driver's Intervention Program (DIP) Counselor. The DIP Counselor will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with impaired driving offenses. This position requires, at minimum, an active Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) certification in Ohio. 

Responsibilities: 

Client Screenings: 

  • Conduct thorough assessments and screenings of program participants.
  • Gather relevant information to determine individualized treatment needs.

Referrals: 

  • Provide appropriate referrals to additional support services based on participant needs.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and resources to enhance the participant's overall support network.

Discharge Planning: 

  • Develop and implement effective discharge plans tailored to each participant's progress.
  • Coordinate with the treatment team to ensure a smooth transition post-program.

Group Education: 

  • Facilitate group education sessions on topics related to substance abuse and impaired driving.
  • Develop and deliver engaging and informative content to program participants.

Counseling Services: 

  • Conduct individual counseling sessions to address specific participant needs.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance throughout the participant's involvement in the program.

Requirements: 

  • Active Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) certification in Ohio is mandatory.
  • Previous experience in substance abuse counseling or related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of addiction treatment principles and evidence-based practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by individuals in recovery.
