What is a part time data science neuroscience?

A part-time data science role in neuroscience involves applying data analysis, statistical modeling, and computational techniques to understand brain functions and neurological data while working fewer hours than a full-time position. These roles often support research projects, analyze large datasets such as brain imaging or behavioral data, and contribute insights to advance neuroscience discoveries. Part-time positions are ideal for students, professionals seeking flexible hours, or those balancing multiple commitments, allowing them to contribute valuable skills without a full-time commitment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time data science neuroscience professional?

To thrive as a Part Time Data Science Neuroscience professional, you need a solid background in neuroscience, statistics, and data analysis, usually backed by a relevant degree or research experience. Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R, data visualization tools, and experience with neuroimaging software such as MATLAB or FSL are typically required. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly make candidates stand out. These skills and qualities are crucial for extracting actionable insights from complex brain data and contributing effectively to interdisciplinary research teams.

What are some common challenges faced by part time data science neuroscience professionals?

Part-time data scientists in neuroscience often face the challenge of balancing project timelines with limited hours, which can make it difficult to dive deeply into complex datasets or long-term experiments. They must quickly adapt to specialized neuroimaging tools and biological data formats, and frequent collaboration with neuroscientists means strong communication skills are essential for aligning analysis goals. Despite these challenges, many part-time roles offer opportunities to work on interdisciplinary teams, contribute to high-impact research, and develop expertise in both neuroscience and advanced analytics.

Contract Technical Recruiter (Part Time)

Prophet

Atlanta, NY

$75/hr

Part-time

Posted 17 days ago

Job description

About the Role

Prophet is building MAIA,- an always-available assistant that amplifies human insight. By integrating directly into our workflows, it turns AI into true Augmented Intelligence, extending our creativity, judgment, and expertise. It's one of the most ambitious bets at the firm, and the AI Foundry team behind it is scaling fast. This is a rare seat: a chance to build the technical bench for a platform with real reach, inside a firm that's putting AI at the center of its future.

We're looking for a contract technical recruiter to own full-cycle sourcing and screening for AI Foundry's growing technical roster. You'll run point on identifying and landing strong engineering talent - sourcing, screening for real depth, and partnering directly with the Recruiting Manager and hiring leads to move great candidates through the process quickly.

This is a part-time contractor role estimating 20 hours per week for up to 4 weeks.

Your Day to Day
  • Partner with the Recruiting Manager and AI Foundry hiring leads to build sourcing strategy, target profiles, and screening criteria for each open role.
  • Proactively source passive and active candidates across LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, and other channels.
  • Screen inbound and sourced candidates for technical fit, seniority, and role alignment before advancing them into the interview process.
  • Write clear, structured screen summaries/debriefs that let the Recruiting Manager and hiring leads make fast, confident advance/pass decisions.
  • Own pipeline management: keep Greenhouse stages, dispositions, scorecards, and notes accurate and current at all times.
  • Manage candidate outreach, scheduling, and communication with a level of polish that reflects well on Prophet and the Foundry.
  • Calibrate continuously with the Recruiting Manager and hiring leads, refining search criteria and screening rubrics as each search progresses.
  • Flag market intelligence - compensation benchmarks, competing offers, candidate availability trends - as it surfaces.
  • Speak knowledgeably to candidates about MAIA, the Foundry team, and Prophet's leveling structure.
  • Provide a regular (e.g., weekly) pipeline update: volume, source effectiveness, screen-to-onsite conversion, and blockers.
What you Bring
  • 3+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, ideally including AI/ML, data science, or platform engineering roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to source and screen for niche, senior technical talent - not just generalist software engineering.
  • Comfort operating independently with light day-to-day oversight; this person owns their pipeline.
  • Strong written communication - screen summaries and candidate outreach need to be sharp and structured.
  • Greenhouse experience strongly preferred; ATS fluency required at minimum.
  • Experience recruiting into a consulting, agency, or professional-services environment is a plus, given the cross-functional nature of these roles.

This is a part-time contractor role estimating 20 hours per week for up to 4 weeks. Compensation: $75/hr - flexible
