Job Description:

Position Summary

Hamilton College is seeking Temporary Administrative Support professional(s) for various departments to assist with day-to-day office operations. These roles will provide essential support across administrative functions and is well-suited to individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment. Assignment length and hours are flexible depending on departmental needs.

With the exception of Federal/State Mandated Benefits, positions non-benefited. Hours and duration vary by department need. Both full-time and part-time temporary assignments may be available. Specific schedule to be discussed with the hiring department.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative and clerical support, including answering phones, greeting visitors, and managing correspondence

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and calendars

  • Maintain organized filing systems (physical and digital)

  • Process and route incoming/outgoing mail and packages

  • Assist with data entry and maintenance of accurate records/databases

  • Support event or meeting logistics

  • Order and track office supplies, as needed

  • Assist staff with special projects as assigned

  • Perform other duties as required

Education & Experience

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Prior administrative, clerical, or office support experience

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace

Preferred:

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree

  • Experience working in a higher education or academic setting

  • Experience with college-specific systems (e.g., Colleague, Workday, or similar)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

  • Ability to exercise discretion when handling confidential information

Compensation Range:

$19.00 - $20.00 per hour
