Job description

Description
The Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology Lab is hiring one part-time assistant research scientist to work with Dr. Gerald Voelbel in the Department of Occupational Therapy, New York University on a project that studies brain repair post traumatic brain injury. Responsibilities include neuropsychological assessment, scheduling study visits, screening and enrolling participants, collecting data, data entry, administration of research protocols, Maintaining accurate and organized research records, proficient in the use of REDCap, statistical analyses, and Microsoft software. Incumbents will work 10 hours per week.
This appointment will run through February 9, 2027, with the possibility of renewal contingent on lab needs and the availability of funds. The job duties for this position are highly local in nature and require onsite presence to be performed. Due to study participants being recruited in different time zones, the incumbent will be expected to work some evening and weekend hours.
The position does not include any supervisory responsibilities, but being able to effectively communicate and train study procedures is expected.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly pay for this position is $30. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
  • Graduate degree in psychology or related field
  • Knowledge of administering and scoring neuropsychological assessments
  • Good organizational skills
  • Knowledge of REDCap data system
  • Knowledge to perform psychometric analyses

Preferred qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience in clinical, rehabilitation, or cognitive neuroscience research
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills
