Description
Under the supervision of the Corrections Administrative Lieutenant, the Part-Time Community Re-entry Assistant is responsible for assisting in the release process through accurate data entry, verification, and records management. This position emphasizes updating and maintaining computer systems, reviewing release documentation for accuracy, and supporting coordination with courts, probation, medical staff, and community partners. The role provides essential clerical and administrative support to ensure individuals being released from the facility have accurate and timely information.
Essential Functions
  1. Perform accurate data entry into multiple court, pre-trail, probation, and medical systems, ensuring updated contact information for individual being released.
  2. Review and verify release packets prepared by Receiving Deputies for accuracy and completeness.
  3. Generate, update, and distribute release lists, ensuring information is entered correctly for daily releases.
  4. Enter and maintain accurate records of release-related forms, including bond paperwork, probation intakes, and pre-trial services documentation.
  5. Provide release-related information to community partners by entering, retrieving, and transmitting verified data through system reports.
  6. Maintain electronic and paper filing systems for court forms, medical information, and release documents.
  7. Assist with preparing written summaries of upcoming court dates, probation conditions, or supervised release restrictions for distribution to individuals being released.
  8. Update attorney of record and community partner databases with accurate contact and release information.
  9. Assist with compiling statistical reports on releases, reentry services, and program referrals as directed by Jail Command.
  10. Provide clerical and data-entry to jail operations including responding to information requests from courts and other agencies.
Other Functions:
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assist Corrections staff with emergency or urgent documentation needs as assigned by Jail Command.
  • Must adhere to departmental standards in regard to confidentiality, HIPAA, and other privacy issues.
  • During a public health emergency, the employee may be required to perform duties similar to, but not limited to, those in his/her job description.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner, change focus on projects as needed and multitask.
  • Dependable and regular attendance required.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations on an occasional basis
  • Ability to maintain excellent customer service during stressful situations.

Employment Qualifications
Education: High school graduation or equivalent with some advanced or specialized coursework in accounting/bookkeeping, statistics, mathematics, criminal justice and/or legal specialty.
Experience: Previous employment or internship with clerical related experience in a law enforcement setting or in the legal field is preferred.
