Job Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor - Esthetics (Part-Time) position in the Business and Public Service Technologies (BPST) Division. This position is located on Atlanta Tech's Main Campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Under general supervision of the Dean of Business & Public Service technologies and the Cosmetology Department Chair, the Adjunct Instructor - Esthetics (Part-Time) will demonstrate a passion for our Esthetics program, guiding students through theoretical and practical courses associated with advanced techniques in skin care.This is a part-time position, working up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week.

Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Ensure the provision of high-quality discussions, learning, and communication.
  • Grade course materials such as quizzes and test.
  • Follow and comply with all state compliance laws and requirements (e.g., HIPPA, esthetics regulations, OSHA).
  • Prepare and present program material to meet program / course objectives (e.g., PowerPoint slides and class assignments).
  • Maintain accurate student attendance, assignments, and grades in the College's Learning management System.
  • Assist Students with navigating both online and in-person learning environments; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Skills in effectively explaining concepts and techniques to students
  • Ability to patiently provide support to students as they develop competencies in Esthetician modalities and techniques
  • Skills in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners
  • Willingness to commit to ongoing professional development as well as continuing independent education
  • Willingness to maintain Esthetics License and Esthetics Instructor License

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess and demonstrate the following:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid Georgia Esthetics License
  • Must possess a valid Georgia Esthetics Instructor License
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proven three (3) years of experience as a licensed Esthetician
  • Knowledge of student information systems

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Teaching responsibilities are typically performed in a classroom/lab environment with the employee intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for three (3) - four (4) continuous hours at a time; and may occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Exposure to chemicals and fumes is possible in the laboratory setting. A full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.
