The Lighthouse of Houston is seeking a blind or low vision employee to work per the service contract requirement.ย ย 

The Data Entry Operator II is a Service Contract positionย withย responsibilitiesย includeย accurately inputting, updating, andย maintainingย complex data in computer systems.ย ย Thisย positionย includesย verifying data accuracy, resolving discrepancies,ย and handlingย specialized data from various formats.ย ย 

This positionย requires a team player whoย is willing toย demonstrateย the LIGHTย Principles of Leadershipย (L), Integrityย (I), Growthย (G), Humilityย (H), and Trustย (T).ย It is important for individuals to be committed to a continuous learning environment andย to be champions ofย change, with a teamwork mentality.ย This position reports to theย Business Services Unit Manager.ย ย ย 

Mission:ย 

To enable and empower people who are blindย orย low vision to realize their full potential.ย 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately input, update, andย maintainย complex data within computer systems and databases.ย ย 

  • Verifyย data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before and after entry.ย ย 

  • Update, organize, andย maintainย electronic records and filing systems.ย 

  • Transcribeย alphanumeric data from diverse sources (paper, digital, audio) into databases with high accuracy and speed.ย 

  • Operate alpha-numeric keyboards to enter complex coded and uncoded data from source documents into database systems.ย ย 

  • Review andย validateย documents to ensure proper data processing and compliance with procedures.ย ย 

  • Identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies or inconsistenciesย in a timely manner.ย ย 

  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.ย ย 

  • Perform routine quality checks to ensureย high levelsย of accuracy and productivity.ย ย 

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production and performance goals.ย ย 

  • Organize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced work environment.ย ย 

  • Follow established procedures, detailed instructions, and company data-entry standards.ย 

  • Perform other general duties as needed.ย 

Education, Licensure and Experience:ย 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalentย required.ย ย 

  • Minimum of 2 years of data entry operations experience or equivalent related experienceย required.ย ย 

  • Experience working with computer databases, document processing, and data verification preferred.ย ย 

  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with professionalism.ย 

  • Proven ability toย maintainย accuracy and productivity in a fast-paced environment.ย ย 

Knowledge Skills and Abilitiesย 

  • ย Ability to work with minimal supervision while following specific procedures and detailed instructions.ย ย 

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in data entry and document processing.ย ย 

  • Experience operating scanning equipment, indexing documents, and performing routine maintenance such as clearing paper jams.ย ย
