BGM is looking for motivated, curious, and service-minded accounting students to join our Summer 2028 Internship Program.
Our summer internship is designed to give you meaningful, hands-on experience while helping you explore what a career in public accounting could look like. From May through August, you'll work approximately 30 hours per week with flexibility to build a schedule that works for you.
As a BGM intern, you won't spend your summer on the sidelines. You'll contribute to real client work, gain exposure to both audit and tax, and work alongside professionals at different levels of the Firm. You'll also receive ongoing coaching and feedback to help you build your technical skills, confidence, and understanding of the profession.
And the experience may extend beyond the summer.
Based on performance, career goals, and business needs, successful interns may be considered for future internships or full-time opportunities with BGM.
What You'll Do
As an Accounting Intern, you will:
  • Assist with audits, reviews, compilations, and other assurance engagements;
  • Support tax return preparation and other tax-related projects;
  • Collect and analyze client information and financial data;
  • Assist engagement teams with identifying issues and communicating findings;
  • Complete tax research and special projects as needed;
  • Gain exposure to clients across a variety of industries;
  • Work alongside team members at different levels of the Firm; and
  • Build your accounting and industry knowledge through hands-on experience, coaching, training, and collaboration.

Who We're Looking For
Our ideal intern is someone who is eager to learn, comfortable asking questions, and excited to contribute as part of a team.
You should be:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting;
  • Interested in gaining experience in public accounting;
  • Available to work approximately 20-30 hours per week during the internship;
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
  • Service-minded with strong interpersonal skills;
  • A strong verbal and written communicator;
  • Curious, dependable, and willing to learn;
  • Able to work from our Bloomington, Minnesota office during the internship; and
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
