Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
โ€ข Provide the most responsive, knowledgeable, and courteous service by protecting not only the property but also the safety of the guests and team members through observing, reporting, and responding.
โ€ข Respond in a calm demeanor for any/all emergency situations that may arise, i.e., bomb threats, medicals, deaths, domestic disturbance, etc.
โ€ข Work various posts, including stationary/sitting posts, mobile/standing posts, driving a company vehicle, or roaming posts on foot. Posts can be both inside and outside the hotel as directed by Security leadership.
โ€ข Patrol the property on a continual basis assisting guests/team members whenever needed and securing the hotel property against loss and/or damage.
โ€ข Observe all areas inside/outside of the hotel for safety concerns or suspicious circumstances.
โ€ข Exercise good judgment, reason and a calm demeanor when approaching a disgruntled individual. In the event of a confrontation, follow the department policies while remaining calm.
โ€ข In the event of an emergency or similar situation, take control and instruct fellow co-workers, team members, and guests as to the best course of action to take; follow direction from security leadership and give instructions to guests.
โ€ข Complete investigations and subsequent reports by asking questions pertinent to the situation such as who, what, where, why, how, etc. in order to gather sufficient details to thoroughly satisfy investigation/report requirements.
โ€ข Use a computer report writing system to complete reports and be able to follow through on any given report, under the supervision of the security shift manager.
โ€ข Make constant contact with both guests and team members to provide optimal service. This includes contact with various hotel departments to provide/obtain pertinent information needed for guest service, investigations, etc.
โ€ข Maintain professional appearance in alignment with department and company standards.
โ€ข Exhibit courteous, respectful, and appropriate communications and present information in a concise and understandable format.
โ€ข Cooperate with others in the accomplishment of joint tasks and common objectives.
โ€ข Contribute to a positive work environment, foster collaboration, and provide a tangible contribution.
โ€ข Meet requirements of regular attendance to effectively complete job responsibilities in a timely manner.
โ€ข Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
โ€ข Previous experience in security field or background in military or law enforcement is preferred or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
โ€ข Must be able to maintain appropriate Gaming License & Alcohol Awareness card.
โ€ข Valid driver's license and must produce acceptable driving record per GSR SOP from DMV annually to present to management to remain in position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
โ€ข While performing the duties of this job, the team member may be constantly standing, walking, occasionally sitting, reaching overhead, bending over, crouching, kneeling, climbing and frequently balancing during the duration of their shift.
โ€ข Dependent on the assignment of the designated shift the team member must be able to lift/carry and push/pull up to 25lbs or less frequently or up to 100lbs occasionally.
โ€ข Dependent on the assignment of the designated shift the team member may be frequently driving.
โ€ข The team members will constantly have repetitive use of both feet and hands and require frequent light and occasional firm/strong grasping motions. Finger dexterity of both hands will be occasionally required.
โ€ข Constant use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.
