Position Summary
Compensation is based on 19 hours per week. If not indicated, the hourly rate will be determined by the supervisor.
This position includes responsibilities outlined in the Part-time Instructor Information booklet as well as additional responsibilities stated below related to clinical instruction of nursing students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to the responsibilities included in the Part-time Instructor Information booklet, a part-time clinical nurse instructor must also fulfill the following job functions:
1. Collaborate with nursing course coordinator and other nurse faculty to maintain current knowledge of the Nursing Education Program Philosophy, Objectives, Organizing Framework, and course/clinical objectives.
2. Professionally fulfill the role of nursing instructor in clinical affiliates, including planning for clinical experiences, developing patient assignments, and supervising, instructing and evaluating students.
3. Comply with contractual requirements of clinical affiliates utilized for assigned nursing course laboratories.
4. Collaborate with other nursing faculty to maintain the continuity of the curriculum.
5. Promote effective working relationships among course faculty.
6. Resolve or refer student requests or problems related to course activities.
7 Maintain licensure as a registered nurse in good standing in the State of Alabama, including compliance with mandatory continuing education requirements.
8.Maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation at the health care provider level.
Marginal Functions
1. Assist in the routine operation of the Program as requested.
2. Assist in the collection of data for the Systematic Plan of Evaluation.
3. Participate in professional activities.
4. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Qualifications
Education: Associate in Applied Science in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Experience: Evidence of current clinical expertise in nursing practice and at least three year's work experience in
the field of pediatrics, obstetrics, or mental health nursing required.
Licenses: Current licensure as a registered nurse in good standing with the Alabama Board of Nursing required
Other: Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation at the health care provider level preferred
