Job Summary:
Assist with the preparation, serving and cleanup of the school breakfast and/or lunch program. Create an environment that produces a satisfying school experience as well as a professional image of the school while providing a well-balanced student breakfast and lunch program.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:














  • Prepare food in accordance with established procedures and direction of the Head Cook.
  • Assist the Head Cook in estimating the quantities of food to students and staff.
  • Actively participate in the serving of food to students and staff.
  • Assist and participate in the necessary cleanup of all cafeteria-related areas.
  • Maintain and practice required standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Become knowledgeable about the overall operation to insure continuity and consistency of service in the event of personnel absence.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of safe operation of all kitchen equipment.
  • Interact with students and staff in a courteous and positive manner.
  • Actively participate in activities designed to improve the school lunch program.
  • Perform other duties reasonably related to the Food Services function as assigned by the Head Cook, Principal and/or Food Service Director.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalentย (required)
  • Knowledge in the food service industry with an understanding of nutrition, sanitation and food safety is preferred
  • ServSafe preferred
  • Cooking experience preferred
  • General working knowledge of computers preferred
  • Strong Math skills preferred
  • Must demonstrate the ability to be highly structured and organized & have good communication skills
  • Must have obtained (or will obtain) valid PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Criminal History Background clearances within the past twelve (12) months.ย 


Hourly Rate:
$14.40-$19.15
