Part-Time Dietary Cook

Compensation: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Job Type: Part-Time (16 Hours Per Week)
Location: Cranberry Township, PA 16066
Schedule: Primarily Weekends (Two 8-Hour Shifts Per Week)
Required: ServSafe Certification

DTAC is seeking a dependable and motivated
Part-Time Dietary Cook to support food service operations at our all-girls residential treatment facility in Cranberry Township, PA.

This position focuses primarily on preparing and serving nutritious meals during weekend shifts while supporting a safe, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment. The full-time Food Service Associate manages inventory, ordering, documentation, government food programs, and resident life-skills training, allowing this role to focus on meal preparation and food service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook balanced, nutritious meals according to established menus
  • Prepare and serve meals for residents and staff
  • Accommodate approved dietary restrictions and special dietary needs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
  • Properly store food and maintain food quality standards
  • Complete required kitchen cleaning and closing procedures
  • Communicate effectively with residential staff regarding meal service needs
  • Support an efficient and positive food service operation
  • Perform other food service-related duties as assigned


Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • ServSafe Certification is mandatory
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to obtain Act 33 Clearances, Criminal History Clearance, and FBI Act 73 Clearance
  • Ability to pass Safe Crisis Management training
  • Basic understanding of nutrition, meal preparation, food safety, and kitchen operations
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high standard of food quality and cleanliness
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical demands of food preparation and kitchen cleaning
  • Reliable attendance and transportation
  • Willingness to complete an on-site cooking skills test during the interview process (ingredients provided)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in food service, dietary services, commercial kitchens, healthcare, residential treatment, corrections, school cafeterias, or similar environments
  • Experience preparing meals for groups
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience working in highly structured environments
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic residential treatment setting
