Substance Abuse Counselor (CADC) โ€“ IOP / Intensive Outpatient | Hickory, NC

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct patient intakes, admissions, transfers, and discharge planning
  • Complete psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling using evidence-based treatment approaches
  • Facilitate SAIOP and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) group therapy sessions
  • Provide individual and group counseling based on the assigned part-time schedule while meeting program and documentation requirements.
  • Identify behavioral health and case management needs while coordinating care
  • Educate patients on addiction, recovery, relapse prevention, and healthy coping strategies
  • Obtain urine drug screens and patient identification documentation
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, CARF, and state regulations
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, clinical leadership, and treatment teams to provide exceptional patient care
  • Participate in community outreach and program development initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Active North Carolina CADC required
  • CADC-R, CADC-I, LCAS-A, or LCAS also encouraged to apply if they meet program requirements
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related behavioral health field preferred
  • Minimum of one year of substance use disorder counseling experience
  • Knowledge of evidence-based counseling techniques, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and addiction treatment best practices
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Passion for providing compassionate, patient-centered behavioral healthcare
