About the Position 

Position is primarily responsible for providing a variety of receptionist activities in serving residents, visitors, and others that include managing and monitoring security systems within the GHA community, as well as responding to security issues. The receptionist is expected to take an active and decisive role to ensure that sign in procedures is followed, camera views are properly monitored, lock outs and keyless lock system alarms are handled immediately, and that people attempting to enter the building at entry points equipped with cameras and buzzers are properly identified before entry is allowed. Additional duties include routing calls and use of computer programs for billing and scheduling, and collecting resident payments; receive packages, and other deliveries.

This position pays $20/hour 

This position is M-F 4pm-8pm

Job Duties

  • Managing visitor sign in protocols, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Monitoring of fixed camera views on computers located at the Reception Desk
  • Responsible for counting and maintaining all cash transactions including but not limited to reconciling each cash bag and petty can drawer on each shift.
  • Responding appropriately to requests to enter the building at monitored entry points and parking garage, with specific emphasis on ensuring identification is properly verified before entry is allowed.
  • Operates telephone console by recording and delivering messages, transferring incoming calls to residents and appropriate staff, and providing coverage to other departments as requested.
  • Oversees and distributes facility, apartment/mailbox keys ensuring security guidelines and proper procedures are maintained.
  • Collects payments and fills out appropriate forms for guestrooms, guest and contractor meals; sells and distributes meal tickets; sells stamps and cashes checks for residents as requested.
  • Assists residents and visitors with requests for cab service, van service, and other requests in a polite and proficient manner.
  • Monitors residents’ presence/absence for the facility through the check-in and check-out procedures.  Responsible for giving residents absence slips and submitting credit slips to Finance.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years experience in public relations, customer service, or related area required.
  • Must have computer skills in word processing.
  • Must be able to deal tactfully, effectively and with compassion with all people.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Must use discretion and independent judgment when performing job duties.
