Job description

About this Role

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to support our financial operations with a focus on general ledger, reconciliations, and reporting. This role requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles. You’ll work closely with the CFO to ensure accuracy across accounts, especially during month-end close.

Schedule: 24 hours/week | Flexible (8:00 - 4:00 or 9:00 -5:00)
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
FLSA Category: Part-time, Non-Exempt
Reports to: CFO
Pay: $26–$29/hour


What You’ll Do

  • Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
  • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations
  • Support and review month-end close, including AP and AR activity, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Identify and report discrepancies to the CFO
  • Maintain organized documentation for reconciliations and financial records
  • Assist with financial reporting and audit preparation
  • Support grant-related financial tracking and documentation
  • Communicate with internal teams and external partners as needed
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate accounting records
  • Perform other duties as assigned


What You Bring

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of general ledger and reconciliations
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets; required to learn accounting software (Blackbaud)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with care


Physical & Other Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer regularly
  • Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds
