The Research Assistant will assist with the research study titled "A novel platform to facilitate provider adoption of cognitive care planning" to recruit approximately 80 patients and caregivers. Recruited dyads will either receive a standard office visit or an office visit supplemented with the use of the BrainCheck software and being provided a BrainCheck produced visit summary.  Duties will include:
  • Study recruitment: RA will work with PI and division faculty to review the EHR to identify eligible candidates.
  • Screen and consent: RA will contact candidate and family caregiver to discuss study and consent interested individuals for the study.
  • Data collection: RA will attend clinic visits to connect candidates with BrainCheck software when indicated, and help physician with printing BrainCheck report and then uploading into EMR. RA will also time visits, and met with patient/caregiver after visit to administer survey instruments.
  • Chart review: RA will monitor enrolled subjects during study via EMR review, and gather data at the prescribed timepoints.
  • Coordination between BrainCheck and UNMC: RA will interact with BrainCheck team for troubleshooting of interface and software issues. RA will also work with UNMC PI and Geriatrics clinic staff and faculty to optimize study workflow.
