Job description

  • Serves as 1 of the points of contact individuals for the Indiana University (IU) School of Optometry Atwater Eye Care Center.
  • Greets patients, collects insurance data, and schedules patient appointments.
  • Triages ocular emergencies and coordinates care.
  • Fields and responds to general inquiries as well as patient satisfaction comments.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred
  • 6 months experience in medical scheduling
  • Hands-on experience with a practice management system
  • Customer service experience and an understanding of medical chart maintenance and insurance
SKILLS
Required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all capacities of this position
  • Demonstrates intermediate computer skills
