STEM Instructor (Temporary, Part-Time) - San Diego, CA

At Arc Experience, we create engaging enrichment programs that empower students to explore new interests, build confidence, and develop skills for the future. We're looking for enthusiastic STEM professionals who are excited to make learning fun while introducing students to exciting careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
About the Role
Arc Experience is seeking a STEM Instructor to lead engaging, hands-on enrichment classes for high school students throughout the San Diego area.
In this role, you'll introduce students to STEM concepts through interactive projects, experiments, engineering challenges, coding activities, technology exploration, and problem-solving exercises that spark curiosity and creativity.
Courses are delivered in one of the following formats:
  • Two classes per week for five weeks, or
  • One class per week for ten weeks

Start Date: ASAP
There is potential for additional teaching opportunities beyond the initial course.
What You'll Teach
Depending on your background and expertise, instruction may include topics such as:
  • Engineering and design thinking
  • Robotics and automation
  • Coding and computer science
  • Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies
  • Environmental science and sustainability
  • Physics, chemistry, or life sciences
  • Mathematics and applied problem solving
  • STEM career exploration
  • Collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills

You'll create an engaging classroom environment where students are encouraged to experiment, ask questions, collaborate, and think creatively.
Schedule & Compensation
  • Schedule: Flexible, generally between 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Monday-Friday
  • Hours: Based on course schedule (10 instructional sessions)
  • Pay: $35/hour for instructional time $22/hour for meetings, planning, or non-teaching responsibilities
  • Position Type: Temporary, Part-Time
  • Travel: Must be comfortable traveling to school sites throughout San Diego County and Arc offices as needed.

  • Reliable transportation for travel throughout San Diego County.
