Job Title: Business Data Analyst
Location: Plano, TX
Duration: 5+ Months
Pay Range: $40.00 - $42.00 per hour on W2
Hybrid Schedule: Mostly remote but some days they will have to go into the office

Position Overview:
Client is seeking a talented and motivated Data Analyst with advanced Power BI and SQL expertise to join our dynamic team in Plano, Texas. In this hybrid role, you will play a key part in driving data-informed decision-making and delivering actionable insights to support business strategies. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure our data processes and outputs consistently add value and drive the success of core projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Data Analysis & Insights: Take ownership of data analysis within your designated project scopes, delivering clear, accurate, and impactful insights in line with project requirements and deadlines.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work directly with business stakeholders and project teams to understand data needs, define metrics, and translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
• Reporting & Visualization: Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports primarily using Power BI and Tableau, ensuring information is presentable and easily understandable.
• SQL Query Development: Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various database sources.
• Data Validation & Quality Assurance: Ensure the reliability, consistency, and accuracy of all data outputs by implementing validation procedures and regular data integrity checks.
• Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes, automate repetitive tasks, and improve data quality.
• Knowledge Sharing: Convey technical information and data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, enabling transparent communication throughout the organization.
• Support New Business Opportunities: Contribute to business growth by providing data-driven recommendations, supporting strategy development, and identifying market trends.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of data sources, methodologies, and reporting processes.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline required;a degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is preferred.
Experience Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, working with real-world data in a business environment.
• Previous experience as a contractor or in a part-time data-focused position is a plus.
• Proven record of delivering actionable insights to stakeholders.
Technical Skills:
• Proven proficiency in Power BI and Tableau for developing interactive dashboards and visualizations.
• Strong command of SQL, with experience writing and optimizing complex queries for data extraction and analysis.
• Familiarity with additional data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python or R is highly desirable.
• Understanding of data modeling concepts and ETL processes is a plus.
• Experience working with large datasets and various database systems.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
