Our organization is in search of a committed Registered Nurse to join our Nursing Float Pool in Oncology at the New Brunswick campus.

This is a part-time position, requiring 36 hours per week during the night shift.

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Oncology Float Pool Department at the New Brunswick campus.

Our facility serves as the primary teaching hospital within our health system and is one of only three Level 1 trauma centers in the state. This academic medical center is recognized for its exceptional clinical quality and commitment to providing outstanding patient care. Our team is devoted to ensuring safe, high-quality care for all patients.

Nurses in our float pool are highly esteemed for their ability to deliver exceptional care across diverse patient populations, including those in trauma, neurology, cardiology, orthopedics, and oncology. Float pool nurses exhibit expertise, adaptability, resilience, effective communication, and strong teamwork skills. We are expanding our team to ensure continued access to expert nursing care across our units.

Mandatory:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Proficient in computer applications

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or completion within five years of hire
• 2-3 years of experience in Medical Surgical/Oncology settings

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey

• Night shift, 36 hours per week, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM
• Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and holiday shifts
• Part-time position

• The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care within the healthcare system, adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards while upholding ethical practice as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
• Ensures safety in practice, incorporating evidence-based principles and maintaining awareness of personal knowledge and experience, while taking responsibility for enhancing the knowledge of self and the patient care team through effective communication and resource utilization.
• Responsible for reporting safety concerns, including hazardous conditions and medical errors.
• Maintains knowledge of the patient demographics served.
• Supervises and directs task delegation to appropriate team members, collaborating with other healthcare providers.
• Sets and evaluates priorities consistently, implementing appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes aimed at improvement.
• Acts as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and tailoring the care plan to meet specific patient needs.
