Description The City of La Habra is seeking an Information Technology Specialist (Part-Time) to support with the City's computer systems, desktop environments, and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess practical experience with desktop systems, network technologies, and technical troubleshooting, along with the ability to provide clear and responsive support to City staff. This position will work 20-30 hours/week.

ABOUT THE CITY: The City of La Habra is located at Orange County's north-western most corner; La Habra today is 7.3 square miles, with a population of 62,850. A quiet bedroom community, it is conveniently located within an hour's drive of many beaches, mountains, and desert recreation areas. Department's mission is to provide excellent customer service in supporting all of the technology needs of the City. In addition to providing day-to-day technical support for every City department, I.T

also manages the City's telecommunications system, included are the VoIP network, cellular phones, and voicemail system. ABOUT THE POSITION: This position reports directly to the I.T. Systems Support Manager

The role balances core technical and administrative duties with strategic support for IT infrastructure upgrades and AI-driven developments. Other related duties are performed as assigned. Examples of Duties (Duties may include, but are not limited to the following): Maintain citywide system backups, verifications, and compliance reporting.

Manage citywide desktop hardware/software patching, verification, and status reporting. Monitor citywide spam filtering and secure email deliveries. Monitor and maintain the citywide security camera environment.

Conduct physical inspections and maintain cleanliness in server rooms and closets. Provide basic technical support of hardware, software, and telecom issues. Assist with testing, integrating, and documenting new hardware and software.

Help staff understand and adopt new AI-driven software and productivity tools. Provide administrative support as it relates to processing invoices, updating the inventory database and software subscriptions. Document system configurations, technical processes, and AI/IT operational workflows.

Assist with miscellaneous IT department tasks as needed. Typical Qualifications KNOWLEDGE OF: Applications and functions of personal computer hardware and peripheral devices Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) software products Formal documentation practices and standards Technical concepts related to operating, installing, maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting a variety of computer equipment and peripherals SKILL AND ABILITY TO: Ability to quickly learn to operate, install, configure, and troubleshoot highly technical computer equipment and peripherals. Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or R.

Familiarity with AI development frameworks, core AI concepts, and generative AI APIs. Working knowledge of Windows/Linux OS environments and core networking concepts Ability to establish, track, and maintain a proactive computer maintenance schedule. Ability to exercise sound judgment to identify and resolve technical problems effectively and efficiently.

Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality while working with privileged, sensitive, and confidential information. Strong verbal and written communication skills paired with excellent customer service and interpersonal relationship building.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field (equivalent professional experience accepted) with at least one year of combined experience working on I.T. support and/or Artificial Intelligence (A.I.)/Machine Learning (ML) projects. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Maintain and possess a valid Class C California driver's license, acceptable driving record, and evidence of insurance are required
