Job Description:

The Golf Shop Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional service to members and guests while supporting the daily operations of the golf shop. This position serves as the primary point of contact for member check-in, incoming phone calls, and retail merchandise sales, ensuring every interaction reflects the high standards of hospitality and professionalism expected at Colleton River Club. The Golf Shop Attendant plays an integral role in creating a welcoming environment and delivering a seamless golf experience through organization, communication, and attention to detail


Job Duties:

  • Welcome and assist members and guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Manage the daily check-in process and verify tee times through ForeTees systemย 
  • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to member inquiries regarding tee times, merchandise, and club activities
  • Process retail merchandise sales using the point-of-sale system (Jonas Club Software)
  • Assist members with merchandise selections and provide product knowledge
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing golf shop
  • Restock merchandise and assist with inventory management
  • Support weekly game registration, tournament registration, and daily golf operations
  • Accurately handle credit card transactions and daily reconciliation procedures
  • Communicate effectively with the Golf Professional Staff and Outside Services team to ensure a seamless member experience

Typical Schedule:

  • Part-timeย 
  • Flexible availability Wednesday - Sunday based on business needs
  • Must be available to work weekends
  • Early morning availability is required

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Computer and point-of-sale experience preferred
  • Golf knowledge is beneficialย 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods without rest.
  • Ability to push, lift, carry, or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching required.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One to two years of experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or golf operations preferred, with experience in a private club environment considered a plus
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered

ย Additional Skills:ย 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Familiarity with Jonas Club Software or similar club management systems is beneficial but not required
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new software and technology platforms
