Job Type: Part-time, Monday - Friday.

Available Part-Time Tiers & Benefits:

  • Tier 1: Part-Time (21–29 hours per week)
  • Hourly rates ranging from $150 to $165 per hour (determined by qualifications and experience)
  • Eligible for up to 3 days of paid Continuing Medical Education (CME)
  • Robust, occurrence-based medical malpractice insurance coverage
  • Tier 2: Part-Time (Under 20 hours per week)
  • Flat hourly compensation model ranging from $150 to $165 per hour (no additional benefit incentives apply).
  • Ideal for providers seeking an unencumbered, straight-compensation moonlighting or supplementary role.

Our client, a well-established Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Nassau County, NY, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Psychiatrist to join their clinical team. This role provides an incredibly rewarding opportunity to deliver high-quality, compassionate mental health care to a diverse community.

Operating on a predictable, daytime schedule, this position allows you to make a profound clinical impact while working alongside a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, accurate diagnoses, and individualized treatment plans for both school-age and adult populations.
  • Manage, monitor, and document psychiatric medications and therapeutic interventions competently
  • Order, interpret, and act on relevant diagnostic and laboratory tests
  • Educate patients and their families on mental health treatment plans, preventative care, and holistic wellness practices
  • Partner and coordinate closely with primary care providers, specialists, and behavioral health staff to ensure seamless continuity of care
  • Maintain accurate, secure, and timely psychiatric medical documentation, ensuring proper clinical coding
  • Participate actively in peer reviews, clinical education, quality improvement initiatives, and required continuing education
  • Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, federal, and billing regulatory standards
  • Split operational time efficiently between two designated facility locations in Nassau County. One-site per day
  • Participate in on-call and emergency psychiatric coverage as required by the organization

Qualifications:

Required

  • Medical degree conferred by an accredited college or university,
  • Board Certification and New York State licensure
  • 24 Continued Medical Education (CME) credits per credentialing cycle (2 years)
  • Healthcare Provider CPR/AED Certification
  • Strong ability to support the Medical Director to provide excellent quality of care to patients
  • Strong oral, written, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party billing requirements
  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulatory requirements
  • National Provider Identifier

Preferred

  • Prior experience with IDD/ASD population
  • Experience with community healthcare operations and familiarity with Federally Qualified Health Care
  • organizations
  • Familiarity and ability to efficiently navigate EHR, experience with ECW
  • Child/adolescent or geriatric experience
