The Role - Teacher in Afterschool Program
You'll independently lead afterschool Computer Science & Robotics program for K–12 students. At BBX, Instructors own their classroom to support our after school program for our students. You'll receive structured onboarding, hands-on training, and a direct escalation line to BBX leadership when you need it. If you thrive with autonomy and want to build real teaching experience fast, this is your role.
What You'll Do
  • Lead afterschool robotics classes for K–8 students.
  • For K-2 students, follow First Lego League 2026-2027 program calendar for non-competitive environment.
  • For 3-8 students, follow First Lego League 2026-2027 program calendar for competitive environment.
  • Assist in designing new robotics lesson with our AI Native lesson generators.
  • Support students with learning differences using positive reinforcement strategies
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, high-energy learning environment
  • Handle classroom setup, materials, and basic inventory
  • Communicate student updates to parents and caregivers as directed
  • Attend team check-ins and required BBX training sessions
What We Are Looking For
  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's in Education, STEM, or related field preferred
  • Prior experience in an educational setting required — tutoring centers (Kumon, Sylvan, etc.), STEM camps, learning academies, or afterschool programs qualify
  • Understanding of Neurodiversity learning needs and support
  • Comfortable managing a classroom independently
  • Strong communicator with students, parents, and teammates
  • Reliable, adaptable, and mission-aligned
  • Familiarity with FLL, FTC, or robotics competitions is a strong plus
  • Hands-on chemistry or biology project experience is a plus
