Job description

Overview

A General Warehouse II team member is responsible for loading and unloading various types of merchandise for the Distribution Center by utilizing standard operating procedures. 

Responsibilities
  • Picks, packs, or loads merchandise onto a trailer according to established procedures and/or directed by supervisory personnel
  • Uses computer to look up items, print tickets or shipping labels
  • Unloads trailers full of merchandise by hand
  • Operates a manual pallet jack to move pallets from container to staging location
  • Unloads each container in the allotted time given by the Team Lead
  • Applies pallet label to every pallet that is built from the container
  • Shrink wraps every pallet that is built from the container
  • Operates RF scanners to read barcodes and process merchandise by moving it to proper areas
  • Reads pick tickets and match alpha numeric bar code numbers with description written on ticket
  • Manually loads, unloads, sorts, and stages product throughout the DC
  • Uses computer to look up items, print tickets or shipping labels
  • Accurately completes all paperwork as needed
  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe work environment, including picking up trash and reporting all safety hazards and incidents to proper personnel
  • Works harmoniously and cooperatively with others
  • Follows all Company and OSHA safety guidelines
  • Maintains attendance according to company policy
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED strongly preferred; combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Must be able to prioritize work to business needs and adapt to changing work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be easily trainable and a quick learner.
  • Self-starter and be able to work independently
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to understand written and/or oral instructions.
  • Ability to concentrate for long periods of time
  • Ability to remain flexible to change; willing to move around to other areas
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed
  • Manually lift, push pull, and/or carry merchandise by hand
  • Ability to stand and work on concrete floor for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work extended works hours as needed or during peak weeks
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
  • Climb up/down ladders and stairs
