Location: Burlington County Special Services School District - Educational Services Unit (ESU)
Position Summary
The Burlington County Special Services School District (BCSSSD) Educational Services Unit is seeking a dedicated Hourly (Part-Time) Teacher of the Deaf to provide specialized instructional support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The ideal candidate will possess the appropriate New Jersey Department of Education certification and have experience supporting students who use sign language, hearing aids, and/or cochlear implants. Experience providing itinerant services in public school settings is highly preferred.
Qualifications
  • Valid NJDOE Certificate as Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing or
    • Deaf or Hard of Hearing for Oral Communication and
    • Deaf or Hard of Hearing for Sign Language Communication
  • NJDOE Instructional Certificate in Elementary and Middle School
  • Public school and itinerant teaching experience preferred
  • Experience with Visual Phonics training preferred
  • Demonstrated success providing effective instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Ability to work with students who communicate through sign language and residual hearing using hearing aids and/or cochlear implants
  • Ability to design and implement instructional support strategies that promote student success in the classroom
