SUMMARY

Brooklyn Basketball brings the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty together to establish a community-first basketball experience. Our goal is to grow the game for participants of all ages through professionally led clinics and camps, community-focused events, instructional videos, unique basketball content, and much more. Brooklyn Basketball is seeking part-time Youth Basketball Coaches to assist with the on-court basketball instruction for youth ages 6-17. 

After six months of part-time employment, part-time Coaches become eligible to apply for full-time Coach opportunities with Brooklyn Basketball. 

Part-time Coaches will report to the Head Coach.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Brooklyn Basketball programs including but not limited to events, clinics, camps and year-round programs. 
  • Support Head Coach with on-court basketball drills and games at Brooklyn Basketball programming. 
  • Teach and demonstrate skills and techniques vital for individual and team development. 
  • Identifies new basketball drills and ideas to advance basketball training. 
  • Interact thoroughly and patiently with children, fellow coaches, and parents. 
  • Drive engagement for local community members and basketball leagues. 
  • Build awareness and attention to the Brooklyn Basketball brand. 
  • Build relationships with the basketball community that will help expand the Brooklyn Basketball brand. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree completed or pursuant required 
  • 2+ years of youth development & basketball coaching experience 
  • Full understanding of basketball rules 
  • Must have a flexible schedule and have availability during weekends and holidays as needed  
  • Ability to travel to various areas within the NYC Metro Area 

WHO YOU ARE

  • Must be able to work in a team environment 
  • Highly communicative, excellent verbal skills 

COMPENSATION

$25.00 per hour

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works primarily in an office environment but may be expected to attend games and other events on evenings, weekends and holidays. Will be required to travel to various areas within the NYC Metro Area to attend community events, basketball clinics, etc. May be required to work weekends or nights as needed. This position requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
