Job Title: Part-time Medical Director (Blood Banking & Transfusion Medicine)Organization: Non-Profit Blood Bank (Name of Blood Bank - Optional)Location: California (Remote with occasional in-office requirements)Summary:We are searching for a highly motivated and experienced medical professional to provide leadership and oversight for our diverse medical programs. This role plays a critical role in saving lives by ensuring a safe and sufficient blood supply for over 100 hospitals and medical facilities we serve.Responsibilities:Leadership and Direction: oOversee all medical programs encompassing laboratories, product management, hospital relations, donor services, therapeutic and clinical services, research, and quality departments.oServe as the CLIA Laboratory Director, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.oLead the Cell Therapy Program as the Medical and Procurement Director.oCollaborate with clinical trials involving blood products and transfusions.oDefine medical policies for donor notification, counseling, and transfusion services.oBuild and maintain strong professional relationships with key medical personnel at affiliated hospitals.oProvide medical oversight for the Immunohematology Reference Laboratory and Transfusion Service.Qualifications:Education and Licensure:oActive MD (Doctor of Medicine) degree in the State of California.oBoard certification in: ?Clinical Pathology with expertise in blood banking and transfusion medicine (Preferred)?OR?Other relevant medical specialty with extensive experience in blood banking and transfusion medicine.oValid California license to practice medicine and serve as a CLIA Laboratory Director.oCompletion of primary medical training and a fellowship in transfusion medicine (highly preferred).oAt least 5 years of experience in a blood center or transfusion medicine practice (OR) 2 years of experience in hospital-based transfusion medicine.Additional Requirements:oValid driver's license.oStrong leadership and management skills.oExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.oAbility to work independently and as part of a team.Benefits:Competitive salary and benefits package for a non-profit organization.Opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care and the community.Rewarding work environment in a mission-driven organization.EEO Statement:Bryce Poynt Consulting and our client are Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employers.
