How much do part time clinical research coordinator jobs pay per hour?
What is a part time clinical research coordinator?
A Part-Time Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) is responsible for assisting in the management and execution of clinical trials while working fewer hours than a full-time CRC. They help recruit and screen participants, collect and document data, ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, and coordinate with investigators and sponsors. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of clinical research protocols. Part-time CRCs may work in hospitals, universities, or private research institutions, depending on the study. This role is ideal for those seeking flexibility while contributing to medical research.
What does the typical work schedule and team structure look like for a part time clinical research coordinator?
Part Time Clinical Research Coordinators often work flexible hours, which may include mornings, afternoons, or occasional evenings, depending on the needs of clinical trials and participant availability. You will usually be part of a research team comprising Principal Investigators, nurses, and other coordinators, with regular meetings to discuss trial progress and address challenges. While much of your work may be independent—like managing study documentation, scheduling participant visits, and data entry—you will frequently collaborate with other staff to ensure accurate protocol implementation and regulatory compliance. This balance allows for both autonomy and teamwork, making it well-suited to professionals seeking part-time clinical experience.
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the part time clinical research coordinator position, and why are they important?
To succeed as a Part Time Clinical Research Coordinator, you typically need a background in health sciences or a related field, strong organizational skills, and experience with clinical research protocols. Familiarity with regulatory compliance, clinical trial management systems (CTMS), and certifications such as CCRC or ACRP are often required. Attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to multitask set top candidates apart in this role. These skills ensure accurate data collection, regulatory adherence, and effective collaboration with research teams, which are critical for successful trial outcomes.
