Retail Associate — Part-Time
Whiskey Barrel Meats · Mapleton, ND

Whiskey Barrel Meats is a boutique butcher shop and Smokehouse Lounge one block off I-94 — hand-cut meats, a self-pour tap wall, and a 1920s room that customers drive across the state to see. We're growing, and we're adding one part-time Retail Associate to the floor.
This is the role that meets the customer. You'll run the counter, guide guests through the case and the lounge, and make sure every person who walks through the door leaves having had an experience — not just a transaction. Some of our customers drive two hours to get here. You're the reason they come back.
What you'll do

  • Greet and assist customers at the retail counter — answer questions about cuts, products, and the Butcher's Reserve membership
  • Ring sales accurately on our POS and handle cash and card transactions
  • Welcome guests into the Smokehouse Lounge and help them get settled — pours, seating, and the small touches that make the room
  • Keep the retail floor, cases, and lounge clean, stocked, and presentable to our standard
  • Help with light product stocking, labeling, and rotation as needed
  • Represent Whiskey Barrel Meats the way it deserves — warm, attentive, and genuinely glad people came in
What we're looking for

  • Genuinely good with people — warm, present, and unhurried under a busy Saturday
  • Reliable and on time, with a steady hand at the counter
  • Comfortable on your feet and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Prefer 21 or older (the role works alongside our self-pour tap wall)
  • Retail, hospitality, or food-service experience welcome but not required — we train the right person
The details

  • Part-time, evenings and weekends
  • Hourly, based on experience
