Part Time Class B Drivers are licensed professionals who operate vehicles requiring a Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) on a part-time basis. These drivers typically handle vehicles such as straight trucks, school buses, or dump trucks that do not have trailers or have a trailer weighing less than 10,000 pounds. Part-time schedules can vary, making this role ideal for those who need flexibility or supplemental income. Responsibilities include transporting goods or passengers safely, performing pre-trip inspections, and complying with local and federal transportation regulations.

What does a part time Class B driver do?

As a part-time class B driver, you are qualified to operate a vehicle over 26,000 pounds or one that hauls a trailer over 10,000 pounds. Your responsibilities may involve driving large passenger buses, segmented buses, dump trucks with small trailers, tractor-trailers, box trucks, and straight trucks. Your duties vary significantly depending on your position. For example, you may transport people in a bus or haul cargo with a freight truck. A part-time class B driver's hours vary depending on the job. You may be required to inspect your vehicle before driving and checking it afterward as well.
