Job Description
The Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering general commodities to all of the nine Gerrity's locations in Lackawanna and Luzerne counties.  It is essential that as a Delivery Driver, you will present yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times while performing your defined responsibilities.  You are responsible for always maintaining our high standards of Customer Service.  Other duties may be assigned as required, depending upon the available time, business volume and other criteria as determined by your appropriate supervisors and/or Gerrity’s Supermarkets.  Full compliance with current and future policies will be required to ensure that your work contribution is in the best interest of Gerrity’s Supermarkets. 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Upload, deliver, and download safely products to all stores.
  • Maintain load manifests and all other vehicle documents; ensure they are properly completed and balanced with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries.

  • Communicate with Store Managers as needed regarding information on delivery times.
  • Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.
  • Maintain appropropriate drivers' license
  • Presenting self in a professional and courteous manner while performing assigned duties
  • Comply fully with all safety policies and procedures
  • Adhere to Customer Service Pledge at all times
  • All areas as designated within the Essential Functions of your job responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Class B CDL driver's license
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • 2 years experience driving commericial vehicle
  • Retail local delivery route experience strongly desired
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency
  • Must be able to move and/or lift 100 pounds
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency in order to read and understand
  • While performing the duties, the employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and talk or hear
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision with the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work occasional overtime if necessary
  • Must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by regulation for drivers
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace
