A PART-TIME TEMPORARY Recreation Class Instructor is an essential member of our team, we invite you to apply and help contribute to CNLV'S growing success! Please thoroughly review the information and selection process outlined below this announcement.
ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

Part-Time/Temporary Position - This position is a part time/temporary position and DOES NOT include health or medical benefits. Hours for this position will not exceed 938 per calendar year.
Pay Considerations - The hourly pay for this position is $12.00.
Work Schedule - You must be able to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, overtime, stand by and holidays. Hours will not exceed 935 per calendar year.
Environment -
  • The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
  • The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.

THE ROLE
Under immediate supervision, performs a variety of duties instructing or leading individuals in a variety of recreation classes. Position filled on temporary basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum age of 18 years.

Licenses and Certifications
  • Must possess a valid Nevada state driver's license/Identification Credential or have the ability to obtain, and maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
  • Must possess a Clark County Health Card (Food Handler Card) within thirty (30) days of hire prior to performing the essential functions of position depending on program.
  • Must possess a Standard First Aid and CPR Certificate at time or hire/reassignment. If certification is needed, NLS will provide training. Applicant will have to obtain all certifications within two weeks of date of hire.
  • May require advanced certifications depending on program area hired for. For example - Aquatics Aerobics Instructors, CPR Instructors, and Learn to Swim Instructors.

SELECTION PROCESS

2. The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume - The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process.
3. Oral board interview (Pass/Fail).
4. Pre-Employment Screening - Selected candidates for this position are subject to a pre-employment screening which includes but is not limited to local & state criminal history check; federal criminal history check via submission of fingerprints; drug screening; and a Child Abuse & Neglect Registry clearance for applicants 18 years of age or above. *IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete
