Job description

Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA) is a private school serving Grades Pre-kindergarten through 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN. Our vision is for every Maranatha student to be highly educated, Christ-centered, and biblically anchored world changers. MCA is hiring a part-time aviation teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.

KeyTeachingResponsibilities

  • Teach foundational aviation topics such as:
  • Principles of flight (lift, thrust, drag, weight)
  • Basic aerodynamics
  • Aircraftsystems and instruments
  • Aviation weather and meteorology
  • Navigation and flight planning
  • Introducestudents to aviation careers (pilot, air traffic controller,aircraftmaintenance, etc.)
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts forstudents
  • Use flight simulators and hands-on activities to enhance learning
  • Develop lesson plans aligned withappropriate standard
  • Assess student progress through tests, projects, and presentations
  • Promote safety awareness and aviation regulations basics
  • Organize field trips (e.g., airports, aviation museums)
  • Integrate math, physics, and technology into aviation lessons


Essential Duties (other duties may be assigned)

  • Prepares course objectives and lesson plans, following curriculum guidelines and any requirements or standards of the state and school
  • Lectures, demonstrates and uses audiovisual technology teaching aids to present subject matter to the class
  • Assigns lessons, homework, corrects papers, and hears oral presentations
  • Prepares, administers, and corrects tests, and records results
  • Maintains order inside the classroom and other spaces on campus, as well as off-site school-sponsored activities
  • Counsels students when academic and/or behavioral problems arise
  • Communicate students' academic progress and behavior with parents
  • Keeps attendance and grade records as required by MCA

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or universityinEducation, Aviation, Aerospace, or related field.Strong understanding of basic aviation principles.

  • Pilot license (e.g., Private Pilot License),experience with flight simulators or aviation training tools,background in STEM education,industry experience in aviation or aerospace
