Ecumen Hospice North Branch is hiring a Music Therapist providing services in Chisago County and East Central Minnesota. The Ecumen Hospice North Branch team focuses on providing life honoring care for patients north of the Twin Cities metro area - including Aitkin, Isanti, Chisago, Kanabec, Mille Lacs & Pine Counties.
The Music Therapist is responsible for providing music therapy under the direction of the Clinical Director according to the patient's unique plan of care.

Opportunity Details:
  • Schedule: 48hrs bi-weekly - Part-Time Shifts on weekdays between 8a-4:30p. Must work every other Tuesday. No Weekends or Holidays!
  • Pay: The targeted pay range for this job is $27.00 - $30.00 per hour.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  1. Assesses patients for appropriate medical indication for service and performs assessment to determine effectiveness of therapy.
  2. Directs and assists patients through music therapy interventions to assist with alleviating symptoms of anxiety, depression, isolation, agitation, restlessness, sleeplessness, pain, tension, relaxation, and comfort.
  3. Provides ongoing education to the clinical team of appropriateness and/or contraindications for treatment.
  4. Maintains necessary records, e.g. clinical notes, charting, coordination notes, which will be incorporated into the patient's clinical record within 24 hours of session and modified as needed.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Driving Requirements: Local Travel and Driver's License Required
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from an accredited music therapy program
  • Current MT - BC certification from Certification Board for Music Therapists
  • Valid Drivers License, proof of insurance and satisfactory motor vehicle record
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of clinical music therapy experience in home health or hospice or senior care
