Position Title: Housekeeping Attendant

Employment Type: Full-Time, Part Time, Permanent

Reports To: Housekeeping Supervisor

Hours of Work

This is a full-time / part-time position based on 15-40 hours per week.

The schedule requires flexibility, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional statutory holidays as operationally required. This role may require periodic after-hours response to urgent facility issues.

Position Summary

The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across all areas of the facility. This role supports daily housekeeping operations by executing cleaning standards, responding to facility needs in real time, and contributing to a positive guest experience.

Housekeeping Attendants play a key role in delivering on Vivo's commitment to exceptional member experience by ensuring all spaces, including aquatics, fitness, changerooms, and common areas are consistently clean, well-maintained, and ready for use.

Key Responsibilities

1. Facility Cleaning & Maintenance

Perform routine and scheduled cleaning across all facility areas, including: 

oChangerooms, washrooms, and showers 

oAquatics deck and surrounding areas 

oFitness spaces and studios 

oCommon areas, entrances, and high-touch surfaces 

Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules 

Ensure all cleaning is completed to established quality and safety standards 


2. Quality & Standards

Maintain a high standard of cleanliness that supports guest satisfaction and safety 

Conduct regular checks of assigned areas and address issues proactively 

Report maintenance concerns, hazards, or supply needs to the Supervisor 

Support cleanliness during peak times with a focus on high-traffic areas


3. Health, Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with applicable public health, sanitation, and occupational health and safety standards.

Maintain WHMIS compliance and safe chemical handling practices.

Ensure safe storage and proper use of cleaning equipment and materials.

Support emergency response procedures and ensure team awareness and readiness.

Adhere to Vivo's privacy and confidentiality standards in alignment with PIPA.


4. Supplies & Equipment

Monitor and restock cleaning supplies in assigned areas 

Maintain equipment in good working condition and report any issues 

Support inventory tracking as directed by the Supervisor


5. Cross-Department Collaboration

Collaborate with Aquatics, Fitness, Preschool, Guest Services, and Operations teams to align cleaning scope with programming needs.

Support event readiness and high-traffic periods.

Address cleanliness-related guest concerns professionally and promptly.


Qualifications

Experience in recreation, hospitality, healthcare, or large public facilities preferred.

Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning practices and sanitation standards.

Experience managing schedules and performance in a team-based environment.

WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain).

Standard First Aid & CPR-C/AED preferred.

Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search completed within two months prior to start date.
