Job Summary
Aviation Faculty member responsibilities include teaching, advising and student professional development. The successful candidate must possess a strong commitment to safety, student learning and will be receptive to using active and engaged teaching methods and technology in the classroom and in the aircraft. In addition, candidates should demonstrate an interest in the mission of the comprehensive community college concept.
Job Duties:
  • Promote all facets of flight training in support of MCC's Professional Pilot Program
  • Comply with FAA and MCC regulations, policies and procedures for delivering Private Pilot, Instrument Pilot and Commercial Pilot ground and flight instruction.
  • Work in conjunction with assigned students to establish and achieve robust flight schedules and maintain accurate flight training and academic records
  • Ensure course standards, training requirements and objectives are met by each student

Minimum Qualifications:
  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) is required, CFII preferred
  • Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate
  • 275+ hours of flight time required, minimum 50 hours instruction given preferred
  • Cessna 172 experience preferred
  • Garmin G1000 experience preferred
  • Experience operating Redbird AATD simulators preferred
